MISSION OF THE GWGA The mission of the Glenwild Women’s Golf Association is to provide members with varying levels of ability the opportunity to play and learn the game of golf with others in a supportive and social atmosphere that allows for personal growth within the game. GWGA GUIDELINES

1. Women MUST have an established handicap index of 36.9 or less to participate in 18-hole events. Members must sign-up for weekly events via the tee sheet unless otherwise instructed.

2. Sign-ups and cancellations must be finalized by the Wednesday prior to play at 3:00pm. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to GWGA Board questioning.

3. Weekly event pairings will be determined by random draw. Tournament pairings will be based on handicap.

4. All rules of the USGA will apply except when overridden by local rules.

5. PACE of PLAY: Players should play without undue delay. 18-Holes: 4 hours / 9-Holes: 2 hours

6. All players are requested to play READY GOLF including continuous putting once all players are on the green. Please be respectful of all players and their individual playing abilities. Members are expected to play with women of different ability levels. GWGA PLAY DAYS - 18-HOLE Thursdays are the 18- hole Women’s play day at Glenwild. The weekend prior to each Thursday the Club will send a reminder for the week’s event. Please sign up by 3:00pm on Wednesday via the tee sheet.

9-HOLE Mondays are designated for members who wish to learn the game or participate with a 9-hole group. A complimentary half hour weekly clinic begins at 3:30pm and new for 2022, each participant will be given the “Cocktail of the Week” . 9-hole play begins at 4:00pm. Advanced sign up is requested. Please sign up by 12:00pm on Monday via the tee sheet. CHIP-INS (18-Holers) Each member will have the option of participating in a chip-in pool. Those members who have paid into the chip-in pool, and chip-in during the event, will share the money each week. If there are no winners the money is carried over to the next play day. BIRDIES & RINGERS (18-Holers) Birdies & Ringers will be compiled by the Golf Staff. Birdies & Ringers are only eligible during GWGA play beginning June 2 nd . You must complete a full round of golf in accordance with the USGA rules. All-natural birdies made on play days throughout the tournament season will count towards the birdies calculation. CADDIES Members will be randomly assigned a caddie for their group each Thursday play day. Caddies may not be requested during GWGA play. All caddie assignments will be made on the practice putting green the morning of play by random draw at approximately 15 minutes prior to tee off. The recommended caddie fee for GWGA events is $50 a bag, this number includes a $10 gratuity, if you would like to pay your caddie a larger gratuity you are welcome to do so.

2022 MAJOR GOLF EVENTS

CLARET C UP WOMEN’S MEMBER/GUEST (JULY 2 0-22) Entry: $1500 per team Theme: Under the Big Top Caddies: Random Draw (2 caddies will be assigned per flight) $50 per team per 9-hole match

Open to all members, not exclusively GWGA. The field is divided into flights of four, 2-women teams determined by the team’s handicap at 90%. Each team will play a 9 -hole match against all other teams in their flight. The maximum difference in handicaps between partners is 10 strokes. All matches are to be played the full 9-holes, scoring 1 point for winning a hole, 0 points for halving a hole, and -1 point for losing a hole. The maximum team score per match is 6 points. GWGA SILVER FOX WOMEN’S MEMBER/MEMBER (AUGUST 1 0-11) Entry: $150 per player Caddies: Optional – Caddies Choose who they work for, $200 per team per day Open to GWGA members only. This is a two-person team event, net and gross. The maximum difference in handicaps between partners is 10 strokes. Four different 9-hole formats are played over two days:

Day 1 Back Nine: 1 Best Ball of 2 Both players play their own ball throughout the round. The lowest gross and net scores per hole are recorded. The same player’s score can count for both gross and net. Day 2 Back Nine: Scramble Both players tee off and select the better drive. Both players play from that point and select the better second shot from which they will both play a third. Continue in this fashion until the ball is holed. This format will serve as a playoff format if needed.

Day 1 Front Nine: Chapman – Hit, Switch, and Pick Both players on team tee off on every hole. Players then switch and hit their partner’s drive for the second shot. At that point, partners must choose which ball to proceed from and alternate playing that ball until it is holed. Day 2 Front Nine: Alternate Shot The players determine who will tee off on the even holes and who will tee off on the odd holes. The players will alternate shots on each hole until the ball is holed out.

WOMEN’S CLUB & SE NIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP (AUGUST 17-18) Entry: $100 per player Caddies: Optional -- Caddies Choose who they work for, $150 per day for individual caddie Open to all members, not exclusively GWGA. If you are ages 55 and over you will be eligible to compete in both Women’s Club and Senior Club Championships . A 36-hole Stroke Play event with awards being given in both gross and net divisions. Caddies: Optional -- Caddies Choose who they work for, $150 per day for individual caddie Open to GWGA members only, as an optional supplementary event. This is net individual match play. 100% of handicaps will be used at the date of the most current revision, stroking off the lower player in the match. Matches are to be played within intermittent deadlines as dictated by the number of sign-ups. Seeding will be done based on a random draw of the participants. The 2021 Defending Champion, Janet West, will be the #1 seed if she chooses to play. Below you will find the match windows based on 2 scenarios. Players are responsible to set the date and time of each match. A tournament bracket will be posted in the Women’s Locker Room. Registration Deadline: Sunday, June 12 th . 16 players or less: GWGA SEASON LONG MATCH PLAY (JUNE 12 – SEPTEMBER 9) Entry: $50 per player

17 players or more: Match 1 – June 14 to June 30 Match 2 – July 1 to July 24 Match 3 – July 25 to August 14 Match 4 – August 15 to August 25 Match 5 – August 26 to September 8

GWGA 18-HOLE EVENTS Women’s 18 -hole events scheduled on Thursdays unless otherwise noted. Caddies for all GWGA Weekly Events will be assigned through a random draw, no requests will be honored .

May 19 th ECLECTIC ROUND 1 | Sign-Up Individually to be Paired or Pick Your Own Pairings 10:00AM Shotgun Start - Recommended Caddie Fee: $50 gratuity optional (includes $10 gratuity) This is an individual net stroke play multi-round event. If you cannot participate in Round 2, we will use your Round 1 scores for your competition score. For Round 1 you will play your own ball and record your individual score. After next week’s Round 2 , we will compare your scorecards for each round and select the lowest net score for each hole. This will give you your one 18-hole score for the competition. May 26 th ECLECTIC ROUND 2 | Sign-Up Individually to be Paired or Pick Your Own Pairings 10:00AM Shotgun Start - Recommended Caddie Fee: $50 gratuity optional (includes $10 gratuity) This is an individual net stroke play multi-round event. If you did not participate in Round 1, we will use your Round 2 scores for your competition score. For Round 2 you will play your own ball and record your individual score. Your scorecard for Round 2 will have your Round 1 scores displayed to better your course strategy. At the end of this round the professional staff will compare your scorecards for each round and select the lowest net score for each hole. This will give you your final 18-hole score for the competition.

June 2 nd OPENING DAY - BETTER BALL | Paired by the Golf Shop | Lunch Included 9:00AM Shotgun Start - Recommended Caddie Fee: $50 gratuity optional (includes $10 gratuity) Teams of four will record their own individual scores. The best score between teammates will count as the single “team score” for each hole. Following play the GWGA annual meeting will be held in conjunction with lunch. June 9 th PROS VS. CADDIES | Pros & Caddies will draft teams | Lunch Included 9:00AM Shotgun Start *ALL CADDIE PAYMENTS FOR THIS EVENT WILL BE PAYED BY GWGA Players will be separated into two teams, the Pro Team and the Caddie Team. Depending on your team you will be paired with either a Pro or Caddie, playing a better ball match against your opponents.

June 13 th GWGA MIXER | Paired by the Golf Shop | Hors d’oeuvres after play 4:30PM Shotgun Start - Caddies must be requested prior to play

Open to all members, not exclusively GWGA. The Golf Shop will form groups consisting of 9 holers, 18-holers, and non-GWGA members for a fun and social 9-hole Scramble event. Hors d’oeuvres will be served after play.

June 15.16 th SOLHEIM CUP | Paired by the Golf Shop | Lunch Included 9:00AM Shotgun Start - Recommended Caddie Fee: $50 gratuity optional (includes $10 gratuity)

Two days of team competition, participants will find themselves playing for one of two teams: Team Black or Team White (attire in team colors encouraged). You will compete with a teammate against an opposing 2-person team, playing 18-holes of Chapman and 18-holes of Better Ball. Teams will be assigned Tuesday evening prior to the first day competition. This event will also serve as the host event for the GWGA 2021 Fundraiser with this season’s donations going to the Huntsman Foundation.

June 23 rd The Mogul | No Play Day

June 30 th GUEST DAY (TEAM BETTER BALL) | Pick Your Own Pairings | Lunch Included 9:00AM Shotgun Start - Recommended Caddie Fee per player: $50 gratuity optional (includes $10 gratuity) Invite one guest to play as your partner. Teams of two will record their own individual scores. Gross and Net prizes available. The best scor e between teammates will count as the single “team score” for each hole. Guest’s fees are complimentary on this day.

Your net score on each hole will translate into points as outlined on scorecard. The team that earns the most points will be the winner.

July 11 th GWGA MIXER | Paired by the Golf Shop | Hors d’oeuvres after play 4:30PM Shotgun Start - Caddies must be requested prior to play

This is a 2-4 person team best ball event. Each player will tee off and as a team select the best drive. You will then play your own ball in from the selected best drive. The lowest score on each hole will count as the team score.

MAXIMUM HOLE SCORE FOR HANDICAP – NET DOUBLE BOGEY

The World Handicap System and the USGA have implemented NET DOUBLE BOGEY which sets a maximum number that a player may post on ANY hole. This is calculated as follows:

Double bogey + handicap strokes a player receives based on their Course Handicap

GWGA 9-HOLE | MONDAY CLINIC SCHEDULE – 9-HOLE PLAY

“Drink of the W eek” “ Drink of the Week ” – Every Monday will include a specialty cocktail crafted by one of Glenwild’ s Bartenders. The “ Drink of the Week ” will be presented in the GWGA weekly emails prior to each Monday ’s event. We encourage participants to sign up prior to all 9-hole events and note if they would like that week’s complimentary cocktail. June 6 th Irons| Scramble 9-holes 3:30 – 4:00PM Consistency is key in iron play and developing a set-up routine is the best way to accomplish that. 4:00PM 9-hole Scramble format. Each player plays a shot from the purple tee box. The group will choose the drive that has ended in the best position. From that spot, all players will play again, once again choosing the ball that has ended in the best position. This is continued until the ball is holed.

June 13 th No Clinic | 9 & 18-Hole Mixer 4:30PM

The 9 & 18-holers will join together for a 9-hole Scramble format. Each player plays a shot from the purple tee box. The group will choose the drive that has ended in the best position. From that spot, all players will play again, once again choosing the ball that has ended in the best position. This is continued until the ball is holed.

June 20 th Driver| Scramble 9-holes 3:30 – 4:00PM Increase your club head speed and confidence through coaching and driver fitting. 4:00PM

June 27 th Putting| Scramble 9-holes 3:30 – 4:00PM Doubting your putting stroke kills confidence. We will cover proper fundamentals and putter fitting. 4:00PM 9-hole Scramble format. From that spot, all players will play again, once again choosing the ball that has ended in the best position. This is continued until the ball is holed.

July 11 th No Clinic | 9 & 18-Hole Mixer 4:30PM

July 25 th Bunkers | Scramble 9-holes 3:30 – 4:00PM Everyone loves the Beach! Let’s make the bunker our friend by learning some simple truths about how the club, sand, and golf ball react to each other. 4:00PM 9-hole Scramble format. Each player plays a shot from the purple tee box. The group will choose the drive that has ended in the best position. From that spot, all players will play again, once again choosing the ball that has ended in the best position. This is continued until the ball is holed.

August 8 th Hybrids/Woods| Scramble 9-holes 3:30 – 4:00PM

Advancing the ball as far as you can consistently is the goal and having the right club to do that is a must. Let’s demo some fairway woods and hybrids to see if you have the best tool for the task. 4:00PM 9-hole Scramble format. Each player plays a shot from the purple tee box. The group will choose the drive that has ended in the best position. From that spot, all players will play again, once again choosing the ball that has ended in the best position. This is continued until the ball is holed.

August 22 nd No Clinic | 9 & 18-Hole Mixer 4:30PM

The 9 & 18-holers will join together for a 9-hole Scramble format. Each player plays a shot from the purple tee box. The group will choose the drive that has ended in the best position.
